“You promised, dude.”
“Yeah, I know.” He nudged Jack with his elbow. “Weird getting moral advice from someone who beat up their teacher’s car.”
Jack’s face and ears turned red.
“Shut up,” he muttered, leaning back on his hands, “Shoulda never told ya. ‘Sides, I’m fixing it.”
Brandon raised an eyebrow.
Jack ducked his head and began picking the grass beside his leg.
“Mind your own damn business,” he said with no heat behind it.
“You’re such an asshole.”
“You love it.”
Brandon rolled his eyes and shoved Jack’s shoulder. There was a pause.
“So when did you know you were… ya know…”
Brandon turned to Jack, eyebrows raised.
“What? Gay?” he asked.
Brandon stared at him.
“Really?” he asked, an exasperated grin growing on his face, “I can’t ask you anything but you can go right for the jugular?”
